The alignment of the shafts of the mechanisms should always begin with a “soft paw” check and clarification of tolerances. In most cases, shaft alignment is a typical operation and when using instruments for laser shaft alignment, for example, KVANT - LM or KVANT-SM, does not pose any difficulty for service personnel. It is enough to study the alignment manual and manual (on the BALTECH website in the “articles” section), show once with an example in our training center, and everything will be clear, and if the mechanic “knows how to hold the key in his hands, ” then he did it.
Various alignment methods and standards, their advantages and disadvantages are widely described in the instructions and manuals and will not be repeated in this article, it is proposed to analyze the experience in centering equipment shafts with high power (turbines, compressors, electric motors with a capacity of more than 300 kW, etc. ).
According to the experience of the specialists of the technical service department of the BALTECH company, when aligning the shafts it is necessary:
1. Require provision of instructions for shaft alignment (installation) of this equipment, and if not, use as reference material schemes for similar equipment. It is important to evaluate and take into account any changes, mechanical or thermal, when the machine goes from cold to working mode, etc.
2. Do not neglect the control of the "soft paw" of the electric motor, ideally all the elements.
3. Control the tightening of significant fasteners, ideally with a torque wrench, and mark with a marker for visual control of loosening.
4. After the equipment has been started and the operating mode is reached, carry out a comprehensive diagnostics of the unit - vibration diagnostics (including expert measurements) or vibration control using the BALTECHdevice VP -3410, control of electrical and temperature parameters using BALTECH thermal imager TR -01100.
